To be effective in the course, students should

have a general working knowledge of JavaScript
have a basic understanding of ES6 functionality (though an included 5 minute ES6 crash course will provide a refresher of the ES6 functionality used in the course)
have a basic understanding of unit testing with JavaScript
have basic HTML/DOM knowledge
have the ability to edit text files in an editor or IDE
be willing to particpate in the CodeWinds learning community to engage with teachers, assistants, and other students
have a willingness to learn new technology like using Node.js command line tools for bundling and building
be willing to learn how to use git for source control (desired, but not essential)
